Overview:
USA Engineers is seeking a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to lead and grow our 40+ year-established Survey Department. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced survey professional who excels at managing people, overseeing complex projects, maintaining regulatory excellence, and strengthening client relationships.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and manage survey staff across both field and office operations.
Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and professional growth.
Oversee staffing, workload distribution, performance management, and training.
Project & Operational Management
Direct project planning, scheduling, and budgeting to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
Review and seal survey deliverables in accordance with Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying regulations.
Ensure consistent quality control standards and best practices across all survey work.
Technical Oversight
Provide expertise in boundary analysis, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, subdivision platting, easements, and construction staking.
Stay current on boundary law, surveying standards, and emerging technologies and equipment.
Support continuous improvement in survey methods, workflows, and technology adoption.
Collaboration & Client Service
Collaborate closely with in-house engineers and project teams on multidisciplinary projects.
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to clients, maintaining strong professional relationships.
Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, consultants, municipalities, and internal stakeholders.
Business Development & Growth
Prepare scopes of work, fee proposals, and project budgets.
Support business development efforts and help grow the survey practice area.
Identify opportunities to expand services, improve efficiency, and strengthen market presence.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
Active Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license.
Strong experience with boundary surveys and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
Background in subdivision platting, easements, and construction staking.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson.
Experienced and knowledgeable with GPS and RTK networks.
Proven leadership experience managing survey teams and projects.
Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Client-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and service.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
Experienced Licensed RPLS in the state of Texas
5+ years of experience surveying in an engineering and construction setting
Experience working closely with engineering firms and multidisciplinary teams.
Understanding of current industry trends, equipment, and surveying technology.
Active involvement in professional or industry organizations.
